Dr. Menahem Anderman

President
Dr. Menahem Anderman, who founded Total Battery Consulting in 1996, is a well-known inventor, speaker, and author, and a recognized authority in technology assessment and battery technology related investment. Originally from Haifa, Israel, he holds a BS in Chemistry from the Hebrew University, Israel and a PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Menahem Anderman founded Advanced Automotive Batteries (AAB) in 2000 to provide updated information on the rapidly growing advanced automotive battery market. AAB activities include producing multi-client industry reports and organizing the bi-annual international Advanced Automotive Battery Conference (AABC).
Dr. Anderman has previously served as Vice President of Technology with Polystor Corporation and as Technical Director, Director of New Business Development, and Vice President and General Manager for Acme Electric Corporation. Prior to Acme, he was a Battery Project Leader with W.R. Grace & Company.
Known for his co-authorship of the 2000 California Air Resources Board Battery Report, Dr. Anderman also presented a briefing on the status and prospects of Hybrid Electric Vehicles and Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles to the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources in January 2007.

Carol Chambers

New Business Development
Carol Chambers, who was born in Singapore, has been with AAB since 2001 and currently acts as the Director of New Business Development, Carol has dedicated ten years to expanding AAB through her marketing work and particularly her dedicated support for exhibitors and sponsors. Carol was raised in Yorkshire, England and studied philosophy at University College London. Since then, she has worked as a teacher and professional artist. When Carol is not working or painting she enjoys spending time with her nine year old son on the California Coast.

Catherine Searle

Technical Program
Catherine Searle has been a part of the AAB team for ten years and is the point of contact for all session chairs and conference presenters. Catherine, who has a degree in English and 22 years of experience in technical writing and English/French translation, manages AABC’s technical program. She assembles each year’s conference proceedings and AAB Industry Reports and supports Dr. Anderman in his consulting work. Catherine was born and raised near Paris, France and also lived in Ireland for many years.

Jennifer Anderman

Finance and Administration
Jennifer Anderman, originally from New York, has been with Advanced Automotive Batteries since 2001. Currently the Director of Finance and Administration, Jennifer has also spent many years working in the team’s registration department and advancing AAB’s technical development. Jennifer received her degrees in Accounting and Computer Science, completing her B.A. at Antioch College West. Afterwards she worked as a programmer and financial analyst in such varied places as Venice, London, Boston and San Francisco. Jennifer enjoys traveling and gardening.

| Jo Anna Mortensen

Marketing
Jo Anna Mortensen joined Advanced Automotive Batteries in 2008 and, as the Marketing Manager, coordinates marketing activities for AAB’s conferences and industry reports. She also serves as AAB’s press liaison. Jo Anna, after spending her childhood in Alaska, studied painting and literature at the University of Oregon, California College of Arts & Crafts and Emerson College in England. Her professional experience includes human resource management, legal writing, floral design and teaching drawing.

Nicole McCulloch

Operations Manager
Nicole McCulloch has worked with the Registration Team for Advanced Automotive Batteries since 2005, and joined the team full time as Technical Manager in 2009. She has lived in California, Boston, Chicago, Florence, and London while working in the fields of knowledge management, advertising optimization, and sales

Siobhan Searle

Exhibitor Support
Siobhan Searle, who has lived in Ireland, France, America and Italy, began working with AAB in 2003. Although Siobhan has previously managed the Registration Team, she currently provides exhibitor and marketing support.

Emily Bondarenko

Registration
Emily Bondarenko, born in Berkeley, California, has worked with Advanced Automotive Batteries since 2007, and joined the team full time as Registration Team Manager in 2010. Emily works primarily with attendee registration, facilitating payments, proceedings, and hotel bookings. Before joining AAB, Emily lived and worked with her husband in Russia. A cultural enthusiast, Emily has travelled in and around Europe and enjoys folk dancing and snowboarding in her free time.

| Marlyss Berkan

Accounting & Shipping
Marlyss Berkan, who grew up in “Motor City” (Detroit, Michigan), joined AABC in 2009. Marlyss works primarily in the accounting department, but also handles all packing and shipping for AAB’s conferences. Previously, she has worked as the shipping manager for a European ribbon company. In her free time, Marlyss enjoys cross country skiing and hiking in the nearby Sierra Nevada Mountains.

Tal Lee Anderman

Marketing Support
Tal Lee Anderman, a native of California, has worked with Advanced Automotive Batteries since 2005. She is currently in the marketing team supporting AABC exhibitors and sponsors. Once a ballet dancer, Tal Lee is presently completing her degree in Sustainable Development at Columbia University. Her passion for finding long lasting solutions to environmental and social issues fuels both her studies and her work with AAB.
