Advanced Automotive Battery Conferences

AABC Europe 2011 – LLIBTA Symposium

Session 4:
Stationary & Specialty Applications for Large Lithium-Ion Batteries

High-power, high-energy Lithium-Ion batteries are being installed into professional power tools, robots, Light Electric Vehicles (LEV) , UPS systems, and various military applications, and are evaluated in numerous utility applications. In this session we will review this technology’s commercial progress, how it impacts the high-volume automotive market, and the technological and commercial challenges it faces as it advances to capture a larger share of the specialty, LEV, military, and stationary battery markets.

Mo-Hua Yang
Chairman:
Dr. Mo-Hua Yang, President, TD Hitech Energy Inc.

Dr. Yang has over 10 years of experience in EV battery developing, specializing in Li-ion battery. He has been a project manager of Li-Ion battery development for LEV and HEV applications as well as for the LEV promotion project in Taiwan, which projects are supported by the Taiwan government. He is the author of more than 120 publications, 7 patents, and more than 50 conference presentations in the field of Li-Ion battery technology and EV applications. Dr. Yang is currently president of TD HiTech Energy, an energy-storage system design company and a spin-off company from Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), Taiwan. Dr. Yang has worked at ITRI from 1997 to 2008.TD HiTech Energy designs a battery management system that includes cell protection control algorism, cell balancing, precision SOC indication, thermal management, and digital communication protocol for EV and energy-storage system applications.
